Juneteenth Celebration on Saturday June 27, 2015 at Huntington Beach Central Park
Huntington Beach – The inaugural Juneteenth Celebration in Huntington Beach will be held Saturday, June 27, 2015 from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. at Huntington Beach Central Park. The event commemorates the abolition of slavery in the United States. The day will be filled with learning and fun for the whole family and will be enjoyed by people of all ethnicities.
Juneteenth started on June 19, 1865 in Galveston, Texas by African Americans to celebrate the end of slavery in the United States. Juneteenth is now celebrated throughout the USA. This year marks the 150th Anniversary Celebration. Continue reading
