Advisory: SAPD Detectives Investigating Homicide – 800 Block South Flintridge Drive

Victim: Deceased- Male Hispanic (35) Victim name release pending family notification

On Wednesday, August 22, 2018, at 1:18 PM, Santa Ana Police officers responded to reports of a shooting with a subject down at 800 Block South Flintridge Drive. Responding officers discovered a Hispanic adult male down on the sidewalk suffering apparent gunshot wounds to his upper torso.

Police officers began lifesaving measures and requested paramedics. Orange County Fire Authority paramedics responded to the scene, treated, and transported the shooting victim to a local trauma center. Attending physicians declared the victim deceased on at 1:57 PM. Continue reading→

SANTA ANA POLICE- HOMICIDE DETECTIVES ARREST TWO FOR THE 2010 MURDER OF JEFFREY LEE CHUNG

On 10-2-2010, a robber shot and killed a 23-year-old man in a Santa Ana parking garage. Irvine resident Jeffrey Lee Chung was at a bar with some friends in downtown Santa Ana and walking to a parking garage, when he and a friend were confronted by two suspects, one of them armed with a handgun.

Chung was shot when he refused the suspects’ demand for money. Chung’s friend was unharmed. The suspects, described as male Hispanics, fled the scene on foot. Officers responding to a “shots fired, man down” call about 1:30 a.m., at 201 W. Third Street, found Chung shot in the upper torso. He was taken to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead. O.C. D.A. to hold a press conference about the cops who killed Kelly Thomas(UPDATED: COPS CHARGED)

UPDATE: DA TONY RACKAUCKAS HAS CHARGED 2 FULLERTON POLICE OFFICERS IN CONNECTION WITH KELLY THOMAS’ DEATH

FPD officer Manuel Ramos will be charged with second-degree murder and involuntary manslaughter. Ramos faces up to 15 years to life in prison.

Cpl. Jay Cicinelli will be charged with involuntary manslaughter and use of excessive force. He faces up to four years in prison.

They will be arraigned at 2PM this afternoon at the courthouse in downtown Santa Ana.
