Advisory: UPDATE – Burglary Suspect In Custody

– UPDATE –

On 9-21-2016 at approximately 7:45 p.m., officers were finishing up a call for service in the area of 1400 North Cabrillo, when they recognized a vehicle reportedly involved in a series of commercial burglaries. The officers conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle.

When the driver exited the vehicle the officers recognized him as Alberto Sierra the wanted suspect involved in the burglaries to the Mexican Consulate as well as several other recent commercial burglaries around the city. Sierra was taken into custody without incident. Continue reading→

Advisory: SAPD Detectives Requesting Media And Public’s Assistance In Locating Wanted Burglary Suspect

Wanted: Albert Sierra (32) Transient, Male Hispanic, 5-6/180/Black Hair/Brown Eyes.

Santa Ana Police Detectives are asking for assistance in locating Albert Sierra (32) who is suspected of twice burglarizing the Mexican Consulate at 2100 East 4th Street, in Santa Ana.

Sierra smashed a glass door and entered the Mexican Consulate building during the night hours on September 17th, 2016. The released video surveillance shows Sierra, previously breaking into the Mexican Consulate on July 10th 2016. Sierra stole office equipment, money from the Consulate and several Red Cross donation containers placed inside the location. Continue reading→

Lupe Moreno curses in Spanish at Minuteman protest in Santa Ana today

The Minutemen showed up to protest today at the Mexican Consultate’s office in Santa Ana, at 7 a.m.  They were led by Lupe Moreno, a Republican activist who lives in Santa Ana.

In the video above, Moreno resorted to calling the mother of Naui Huitzilopochtli, the videographer, a “puta,” or whore.  He then rightfully wonders what sort of Christian Moreno is.

Moreno is known for her right-wing politics and supposed evangelical Christian values.  Continue reading→

Minutemen protesting at the Mexican Consulate in Santa Ana on Wednesday

The Minutemen are in an uproar because the City of Santa Ana decided to hold this year’s Fiestas Patrias event on September 11.  They are protesting tomorrow, March 31, at the Mexican Consulate in Santa Ana , from 7am to 9am.  The Consulate is located at 828 North Broadway, in downtown Santa Ana.

Counter-protesters will be there as well.

Normally the Fiestas Patrias event is held around the middle of September, but in order to hold the event on a weekend, the City of Santa Ana opted to start the event on Sep. 11, which of course coincides with the terrorist attack our nation suffered when members of Al-Qaeda destroyed the Trade Towers in New York.  Over 300 Mexican nationals died in that event.  The Minutemen either don’t know that or they don’t care. Bowers Museum showing the film El Principio this Thursday, for free

El Principio

The Bowers Museum continues their Latin American Feature Film Series at this Thursday, January 7th, from 2:00pm – 5:00pm, with a showing of the film El Principio (1972).  This is a movie about a small village struggling to survive as Mexican Revolutionaries and Federales struggle to dominate the countryside.

There is no cost to attend!

The film will be shown at the Norma Kershaw Auditorium.  Seating is on a first come, first serve basis.  This event is sponsored by the Mexican Consulate. Continue reading→
