Irvine Police Department Arrests Violin Teacher Accused of Sexual Misconduct
Irvine, Calif. (May 16, 2018) – The Irvine Police Department has arrested a violin teacher who is accused of felony sexual misconduct with a child from 2005-2007. Peter Kwon, 32, was taken into custody Wednesday at 11:55 a.m. outside his Irvine home.
At the time of the crimes, Kwon taught violin lessons out of his home. His victim, Jane Doe, was an 8-year-old student when the abuse began. Jane Doe came forward to Irvine Police detectives last month and an investigation was initiated. Kwon was arrested for lewd acts with a child under age 14 and digital penetration of a child under age 10. Police believe there is at least one other victim. Continue reading
Manuel Nava, a 21-year-old man already facing charges on suspicion of molesting three children was charged Friday with suspicion of harassing a 17-year-old cheerleader at Century High School in Santa Ana, according to the O.C. Register.
The OCDA is prosecuting Nava for allegedly molesting two boys and a girl. One of the boys was 6-years-old and the other was 11. The girl was 14 when she was allegedly attacked by Nava. Continue reading

An Orange County Superior Court judge agreed Friday to delay the re-sentencing of a convicted child molester, Kevin Jonas Rojano-Nieto, but warned the man that he will get 25 years to life in prison when he returns to court in January, according to the O.C. Register.
It looks like Judge M. Marc Kelly learned from his mistake back in 2015 when he took 15 years off of Rojano-Nieto’s mandatory minimum sentence. Continue reading

Alvar Albert Gonzalez, a 47-year-old former Santa Ana High School science teacher, pleaded guilty Wednesday, June 30, to statutory rape and possession of child pornography, according to the O.C. Register.

Kevin Jonas Rojano-Nieto, a 21-year old Santa Ana man, got lucky when County Superior Court Judge M. Marc Kelly sentended him to a 10-year prison sentence on April 3, 2015, after Rojano-Nieto sodomozed a 3-year old relative. Kelly could have sentenced Rojano-Nieto to a state-mandated life term in prison. The outcry after Kelly’s lame sentence led to an aborted attempt to recall the Judge.
On Friday Rojano-Nieto’s luck ran out as the California State Supreme Court rejected a defense appeal, clearing the way for the Fourth Appellate District in San Diego to finalize its reversal of the sentence Friday, according to the O.C. Register. Continue reading
Joseph Margo, a 48-year-old man was charged Monday with sexually assaulting two girls, including one who was 10 or younger, in Santa Ana, according to the O.C. Register.
Margo is facing numerous felony charges including two counts each of sexual intercourse or sodomy with a child 10 or younger, committing a lewd or lascivious act with a minor younger than 14, oral copulation or sexual penetration of a child 10 or younger, and lewd acts on a child aged 14 or 15. A judge recently sentenced 26-year-old Jovanni Argueta, a former Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputy, to three years in prison, 180 days in jail and five years’ probation for molesting a 12-year-old girl in Costa Mesa in 2015, officials confirmed Monday, according to the O.C. Register.
Argueta pleaded guilty on Jan. 11 to lewd act with a minor, attempted sex with a minor and violation of a protective order. He was sentenced the same day. Unbelievably Argueta’s three-year prison sentence was suspended, according to the OCDA. And another count of contacting a minor with intent to commit a specified crime was dismissed as part of his plea deal. Continue reading
