The Santa Ana Police Department responded to a report of a woman who was found lying on the street at 1600 W. Edinger last night at around 8 pm, according to an SAPD press release. Upon arrival, the police officers located a woman who had sustained major trauma apparently as a result of either being pushed or jumping from a vehicle that was traveling eastbound on Edinger near Raitt Street. WESTMINSTER – A man has been charged with the stabbing-murder of a 51-year-old victim in a Huntington Beach apartment. Rito Samuel Tejeda, 22, Santa Ana, was charged today with one felony count of murder with a sentencing enhancement for the personal use of a deadly weapon and faces a maximum sentence of 26 years to life in state prison if convicted. Tejeda is being held on $1 million bail and is scheduled for a continued arraignment Nov. 22, 2013, at 8:30 a.m. in Department W-1, West Justice Center, Westminster. The time is to be determined. Marilyn Kay Edge, 42, Scottsdale, Ariz., is charged with two felony counts of murder with special circumstance enhancements for committing multiple murders and murder by poisoning. If convicted, she faces a minimum sentence of life in state prison without the possibility of parole. Jorge Santiago Avalos, 27, was found guilty by a jury of one felony count of murder and faces a maximum sentence of 15 years to life in state prison at his sentencing Dec. 20, 2013, at 9:00 a.m. in Department C-30, Central Justice Center, Santa Ana. Authorities have learned more about the mother who tried to kill herself this weekend in Costa Mesa – and whose comments to police led them to the bodies of her two children, at the Santa Ana Hampton Inn.
Marilyn Kay Edge, of Scottsdale, Ariz., is charged with two counts of murder with special circumstances in the deaths of her daughter Faith and son Jaelen, according to the Huffington Post.
The Orange County Coroner’s office determined today that the children were poisoned. Their mother, 42-year-old Edge, has been charged with their murders in what seems to be a tragic ending to a bitter custody battle, according to Fox News. Continue reading

Santa Ana man charged with murdering woman found under a Newport Beach bridge
At approximately 7:40 p.m. on Friday, September 6, Newport Beach Police Detectives arrested Jaime Rocha in connection with the murder of Nancy Hammour. Rocha has been charged with one felony count of murder and faces a maximum sentence of 25 years to life in state prison if convicted, according to the OCDA. He is being held on $1 million bail. Rocha is accused of murdering Nancy Hammour on Sept. 2, 2013. The ongoing investigation is being conducted by the Newport Beach Police Department.
On Monday, September 2 at approximately 8:45 a.m., the Newport Beach Police Department responded to a call of a woman lying face down underneath the Bay Bridge, near the intersection of East Coast Highway and Bayside Drive. Anthony Darnell Wade, 28, Los Angeles, was found guilty by a jury of one felony count of special circumstances murder during the commission of rape, robbery, burglary, and murder with torture, and one felony count each of elder abuse, first degree robbery, first degree residential burglary, torture, forcible rape, and the unlawful taking of a vehicle.
