One of the inmates who escaped last week from the Orange County Men’s Central Jail, Bac Duong, turned himself in this morning, according to the O.C. Register.
Duong, who is 43 years old, was arrested just before noon today near the Auto Electric Rebuilders shop at 1421 N. Harbor Blvd., in Santa Ana, after he got in touch with a woman in Santa Ana.
Duong apparently approached a passerby on the street and said that he wanted to turn himself in. Continue reading
Nooshafarian Ravaghi, 44, of Lake Forest, an English as a Second Language teacher from the Rancho Santiago Community College District who worked in the OC Central Men’s Jail has been arrested, according to the O.C. Register.
Ravaghi allegedly helped the three escaped inmates – Hossein Nayeri, Jonathan Tieu and Bac Duong to escape by providing them with Google Maps and in other ways not yet disclosed by the OC Sheriff.
The motive? Apparently Ravaghi and Nayeri exceeded their student-teacher association as they developed what has been described as a “closer relationship.” Continue reading
You might have noticed a lot of police activity in Santa Ana today. Apparently the OC Sheriff’s Department arrested five people today in connection with the three violent inmates who escaped from the Orange County Men’s Central Jail, in Santa Ana, according to the O.C. Register.
Sheriff Sandra Hutchens said that the five people who were arrested today helped the escapees in some undetermined fashion. They may have been involved in helping to smuggle the cutting tools used in the escape into the jail. Continue reading
Supervisors Increase Reward for Information on Jail Escapees
The Orange County Board of Supervisors approved increasing the reward for information leading to the apprehension of three escaped inmates from the Orange County Men’s Central Jail to a total of $200,000.
Board members unanimously approved adding up to $50,000 each for information leading to the capture of inmates Hossein Nayeri, 37; Jonathan Tieu, 20; and Bac Duong, 43, who escaped from the jail sometime on Friday, January 22, 2016. The U.S. Marshals Service already has pledged $10,000 each for information on the three inmates while the Federal Bureau of Investigation contributed another $20,000. Continue reading
The Orange County Sheriff’s Department’s Bomb Squad used a robot to examine the suitcase that was left at 1300 North Grand Ave. today, just north of the 5 Freeway, according to the O.C. Register. The suitcase was suspected to be a bomb as it had wires sticking out of it.
The Bomb Squad’s robot took a photograph and x-ray of the suitcase, at around 10:30 a.m., before returning to three nearby deputies to be examined. Continue reading
The U.S. Marshals Service has kicked in an additional $30,000 in addition to the $20,000 already offered by the FBI for information leading to the re-arrest of Hossein Nayeri, Jonathan Tieu and Bac Duong, according to the O.C. Register.

The Orange County Sheriff has revealed how Hossein Nayeri, 37, Jonathan Tieu, 20, and Bac Duong, 43, escaped from the Orange County Central Men’s Jail, according to the O.C Register.
Sometime between Friday’s 5 a.m. and 9 p.m. head counts, the men cut through half-inch steel bars, forced their way into a plumbing tunnel and made their way to an unsecured part of the jailhouse roof. Continue reading

Yet another gang shooting took place very early this morning, at around 12:30 a.m., at the 3400 block of West Chestnut Ave., in Santa Ana, just west of Santa Anita Park. The good news is that the SAPD have arrested two known gang members in the wake of the shooting, according to the O.C. Register.
The SAPD was assisted by the O.C. Sheriff’s helicopter, “Duke” and it was Duke’s crew that spotted a suspect, who was later identified as Jesse Garcia Isais, 41-years-old, as he was walking away from the area of South Jackson Street and Pine Ave., one block away from the shooting at the Chestnut Ave. address. Mail Theft Suspects Arrested Following Vehicle Pursuit
LAGUNA HILLS, Calif. (December 18, 2015) – On Friday, December 18, 2015, Orange County Sheriff’s deputies arrested David Brown, 45, Anaheim, Jessie Brown, 55, Anaheim, and Corey Richardson, 22, Anaheim, following an almost two-hour pursuit through Orange and Los Angeles counties. The suspects were arrested after they fled on foot following termination of a vehicle pursuit in the City of Downey.
At approximately 2:30 p.m., Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the 25000 block of Buckboard Lane after neighbors reported seeing two male subjects taking mail from their mailboxes. The informants described the subject’s vehicle as a silver compact vehicle. The Sheriff’s Department’s airship “Duke” responded to the area with patrol units and immediately located a silver 2011 Honda Civic leaving the area. The vehicle, driven by David Brown, was travelling at a high rate of speed on Alicia Parkway towards the Interstate 5 freeway. Deputies attempted a traffic stop of the vehicle; however, the vehicle accelerated and a pursuit ensued. Continue reading

Investigators Seek Additional Victims of Child Pornography Suspect
SANTA ANA, Calif. (September 28, 2015) – On Friday, September 25, 2015, investigators from the Orange County Child Exploitation Task Force (OCCETF) arrested Christopher Brown, 42, Orange, on multiple charges related to possession of child pornography and lewd conduct with a child. Brown was arrested in an Orange County shopping center parking lot after investigators contacted him during a surveillance operation.
On Wednesday, September 16, 2015, OCCETF investigators received information from the Los Angeles Internet Crimes Against Child Task Force (LAICACTF) about Brown and his involvement in numerous acts of sexual misconduct. Brown, a professional photographer and children’s tumbling teacher, was suspected in being in possession of numerous photographs and videos depicting female minors. Investigators immediately began analyzing electronic data and conducting a preliminary investigation into Brown’s elicit sexual misconduct. Continue reading

Bank Robbery Suspect Arrested
LAKE FOREST, Calif. (September 21, 2015) – On Monday, September 21, 2015, Orange County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Chandler Graham, 52, Los Angeles, in connection with an armed robbery at the Eagle Community Credit Union located at 23021 Lake Center Drive, in Lake Forest. Graham was arrested near the intersection of Red Hill Avenue and El Camino Real in the City of Tustin, following a short vehicle pursuit.
At approximately 10:46 a.m., Sheriff’s deputies responded to the Eagle Community Credit Union for a report of a robbery in progress. Responding deputies were provided a description of Graham and indicated he left in a tan or gold sedan. Approximately six minutes later, a deputy observed the vehicle matching the description travelling northbound Interstate 5, approaching Sand Canyon Road. The vehicle exited Tustin Ranch Road and a short vehicle pursuit ensued before the vehicle yielded near Red Hill Avenue and El Camino Real in the City of Tustin. Graham, the driver and lone occupant in the vehicle, was taken into custody without incident or injury. Continue reading

Advisory: OCSD Airship “Duke” Assists SAPD Locate Armed Auto Theft Suspect After Pursuit
On Thursday 9-10-15 at midnight, an officer was patrolling the area of 500 S. Oak Street when he observed a suspicious vehicle occupied by a lone male occupant. The officer attempted to stop the vehicle for traffic violations but the driver failed to yield and led officers on a pursuit. During the pursuit, suspect Jeffery Zavala tossed a handgun out of the vehicle.
The pursuit ended in the city of Tustin when the driver fled on foot to a nearby school. The officer chased Zavala and used his Taser but it was ineffective. Zavala temporarily eluded capture until Orange County Sheriff’s Air Support “DUKE” observed him inside a nearby apartment complex. Officers established a perimeter and ordered Zavala to surrender. When he refused, the K9 was deployed and the suspect was taken into custody. The weapon Zavala tossed out of the vehicle during the pursuit was located and recovered by assisting officers.

Arrested: Stephone Jawonn Fellows (27) Los Angeles –Burglary, Conspiracy to Commit Crime, Resisting Peace Officer and Bianca Renee McNair (25) Santa Ana – Burglary, Conspiracy to Commit Crime
On 8-31-2015 at 8:50 am, a resident reported seeing a suspicious male knocking on his neighbor’s door. When the male received no answer at the door, he went through the side yard to the rear of the residence and out of sight. Responding officers requested the assistance of Orange County Sheriff’s Airship “Duke.”
The suspect, matching the description provided by witnesses was located by Duke in the rear yard of a residence where two window screens had been removed. When Duke arrived on scene the suspect observed the airship and ran out of the yard, entering the passenger side of a vehicle. Duke directed responding units to the vehicle, and a car stop was conducted. The male subject fled from the vehicle and ran through the apartment complex at the northeast corner of Fairview and Segerstrom. Continue reading
