Robert Weirick, a 35-year-old man, was arrested at a storage facility on Wednesday morning, Jan. 31, on suspicion of stealing a $10,000 bicycle and a car – which, officials said, he used to ram two police vehicles, according to the O.C. Register.
Weirick drew the attention of the Irvine Police Department when he allegedly stole a high-end bicycle. The Irvine Police got a tip on Wednesday morning that Weirick was in a stolen vehicle. Continue reading

Oscar Gilbert Felix, 54, of Orange, a nurse with 14 years of experience, was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of physically abusing a boy with disabilities, according to the O.C. Register.

Advisory: SAPD Continues Investigation Of Fatal Hit & Run Collision – Victim Identified
Victim: Juan Manuel Segura, (57) resident of Orange
On Sunday, September 10th, 2017 at 7:53 pm, officers responded to the intersection of Broadway and Borchard regarding a vehicle versus pedestrian collision with the pedestrian still trapped under a vehicle. OCFA responded to the scene and extracted the victim out from under the vehicle. The victim was later identified as Juan Manuel Segura, a 57-year old resident of Orange, who was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Witnesses at the scene reported a black pick-up truck, unknown make and model was possibly the suspect vehicle. That vehicle had been driving southbound on Broadway at Borchard when the victim was struck. The black truck fled the scene without stopping to render aid and identify themselves. The truck was last seen fleeing the scene southbound Broadway to eastbound on Edinger Ave out of sight. There should be damage from the collision to the left front portion of the suspect vehicle. SANTA ANA, Calif. – A man was charged today with murder for assaulting and running over the cousin of a shooting victim during a vigil and fleeing the scene with his co-defendant. Sonny Steven Zieres, 26, Orange, is charged with one felony count of murder with sentencing enhancements for the personal use of a deadly weapon and a prior serious and violent felony conviction for assault with a deadly weapon in 2009 in Orange County. If convicted, he faces a maximum sentence of 56 years to life in state prison. Zieres is scheduled to be arraigned today, Feb. 15, 2017, in Department CJ-1, Central Jail, Santa Ana. Trisha Verdugo and her family
As we reported yesterday, 27-year old Trisha Irene Verdugo of Orange, was maliciously run over and killed on Thursday at the parking lot of the vacant Food 4 Less store at 1900 N. Grand Ave., in Santa Ana. Verdugo was there to pay her respects for her 23-year old cousin Joseph Frank Garcia who was shot and killed at the same location the night before.
Verdugo left behind a 2-year old daughter and her partner, Rene Acosta. Her family is now trying to raise money to pay for her funeral services. Click here to donate. Continue reading

On Thursday, February 9, 2017, at 10:41 PM, SAPD Officers responded to a report of a vehicle versus pedestrian traffic collision in the parking lot of the Dollar Tree store located at 1900 North Grand Ave.
Upon arrival, officers located a 27-year old adult female, Trisha Irene Verdugo of Orange, down in the parking lot with multiple injuries. Verdugo died at the scene as a result of her injuries. Continue reading

Ashley Victoria Bertolino, 27, Tustin, is charged with one felony count of driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs causing bodily injury, one felony count of driving under the influence of alcohol causing bodily injury, and one felony count of driving with a blood alcohol level of .08% or more causing bodily injury, with sentencing enhancements for inflicting great bodily injury.
