Orange County First District Supervisor Janet Nguyen easily beat her unfunded opponent, Steve Rocco, in this week’s Primary Election, but she refused to endorse any of the other Vietnamese American candidates – and right now they are all losing.
In the 72nd Assembly District, Nguyen’s fellow Republican, Long Pham, is in fourth place, behind fellow Vietnamese American candidate Joe Dovinh, an independent turned Democrat. Continue reading
UPDATE: Perez was interviewed at his alleged home by O.C. Register reporter Andrew Galvin, who reported that Perez magically knew what sort of toothpaste was in his restroom and what sort of soda was in his refrigerator. Perez however did NOT provide any solid evidence that he has been living at the home in question – no driver’s license and no utility bills. His residence remains in doubt. Remember when Democrat Phu Nguyen ran for the 68th Assembly District, in 2010, and there was a scandal as to whether or not he was a carpetbagger? That may have ultimately cost him that election. A friend of mine sent out an anxious Facebook comment the other day, begging folks in Santa Ana to help re-elect Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez.
Does Sanchez really need to worry – in an uncontested primary? Wouldn’t we be better off helping other good candidates in central Orange County?
For example, Phu Nguyen is running for the 68th Assembly District, in a contested primary against a Republican-backed Democrat, Joe DoVinh. The winner will face the Republican winner in that district – that race features racist Costa Mesa Mayor Allan Mansoor against O.C. Board of Education member Long Pham.
