A police chase ended in the Tustin area with the driver and passenger in custody. Two children were also found in the car, according to KABC News.

Advisory: Update: Detectives Arrest Female Wanted In McDonald’s Assault Case,
Arrested: Mayra Berenice Gallo (24) Santa Ana
On 10-13-2018 SAPD released information/video requesting the media and community’s assistance in identifying a female suspect wanted in an assault that occurred on 10/27/18 at approximately 11:00 PM, at the McDonalds located in the 1500 Block of North Bristol Street.
After doing the story with numerous media outlets, Detectives received numerous tips leading them to the identity and location of the suspect wanted in this assault. Based on the information provided Detectives were able to obtain a $15,000 arrest warrant for suspect, Mayra Berenice Gallo (24) of Santa Ana. Continue reading
Claudia Cruz Hernandez
Claudia Hernandez, 35, pleaded guilty Monday and was immediately sentenced to four years in prison for trying to kidnap Amy Martinez, a 12-year-old girl, as she was walking to school in Santa Ana, according to the O.C. Register.
Hernandez, who was previously identified as Claudia Hernandez-Diaz, pleaded guilty to two felony charges – attempted kidnapping of a child younger than 14 and child stealing. Continue reading
You may have heard a commotion early this morning, just past midnight, at the intersection of Evergreen Street and Warner Ave., just northeast of Delhi Park, as a gunman opened fire on a Hispanic man, according to KTLA.

Red GMC pick-up that crashed in Santa Ana

On Friday, November 23rd, 2018 at approximately 9:41pm., the Santa Ana, Tustin and Irvine Police Departments responded to the area of Red Hill Avenue and Dyer Road because of a reported traffic collision. An Irvine Police Officer was in the immediate area and assisted by checking on the involved parties of both vehicles. He, along with other good Samaritans, were able to remove four occupants from an involved vehicle before it burst into flames.
Unfortunately, an elderly female in the back seat was pinned by the collision and died in the fire. Orange County Fire Authority (OCFA) personnel responded and extinguished the vehicle fire and pronounced the female passenger deceased. The other four occupants of the vehicle, two adults and two juveniles, and the involved driver were transported to local hospitals with moderate to major injuries. John William Zelinski, a 63-year-old man, was sentenced Wednesday to only three years behind bars for fatally stabbing a homeless man in Santa Ana in 1984, according to the O.C. Register.
Zelinski had to be extradited from Arizona. He was charged with the May 18, 1984, cold case murder of Roy Thomas Emming, a homeless man in Santa Ana, at the 2000 block of Walnut Street. Continue reading

Matthew Jacob Granados, a 24-year-old man, was sentenced to nine years in prison for a baseball-bat assault that happened shortly after he was released from behind bars jail for manslaughter last year and also for an earlier scuffle with police, according to the O.C. Register.
Granados accidentally shot and killed a 16-year-old friend of his, Alex Ramirez, back in 2016. At the time Granados fled but he eventually turned himself into the police. Continue reading

Garden Grove police arrested a suspect early Saturday morning, Nov. 17, just before 2:30 a.m., who allegedly shot two men during a robbery, according to the O.C. Register.

Advisory: The Santa Ana Police Department Receives Traffic Education and Enforcement Grant
Santa Ana Police Department has been awarded a $457,000 grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety (OTS) for a yearlong enforcement and public awareness program. The traffic safety program is intended to educate the public on safe roadway habits and deter people from violating traffic laws or practicing other unsafe behaviors that lead to injuries and fatalities.
“Driving under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or any controlled substance is a serious problem that every year results in the death and injury of motorists and pedestrians. This grant funding will permit us to focus our attention on the problem in a more efficient and effective manner. For example our “Behind The Line” community program, gives community members insight into what occurs at proactive DUI enforcement operations” commented Chief of Police David Valentin. Advisory: DETECTIVES MAKE ARREST 11/13/18 HOMICIDE – 1700 BLOCK OF N. WRIGHT
Victim: Esteban Daniel Andres (19) Santa Ana
On Tuesday, November 13, 2018, at 3:01 PM, SAPD officers responded to reports of a stabbing with a victim down in the area of 1700 North Wright Street. Officer located two victims with stab wounds, an adult male (19) and juvenile male (17). Orange County Fire Authority Paramedics treated both victims and transported them to a local trauma center. Attending physicians declared the adult victim deceased at 4:07 PM. The juvenile victim sustained non-life threatening wounds. Continue reading
