Santa Ana Police Department Advisory: Mother arrested for Willful Cruelty to a Child

On Thursday, July 18, 2013, at approximately 1140 hrs, officers were sent to the 700 block S. Lyon St reference to a welfare check on a child found in the courtyard of the apartment complex. Once officers arrived at the scene they located a 10 year child lying on the ground and noticed that he had a long aluminum chain wrapped approximately 4-5 times around both his ankles and a black, metal “Master Lock” padlock affixed to the chain and locked. Domestic violence out of control in Santa Ana

It has come to my attention that the City Council and their acolytes are not too happy that we keep posting daily crime updates, courtesy of our friends at CrimeMapping.  So much for their commitment to transparency!

Santa Ana Daily Crime Report for Monday, July 15 – 28 new crimes

Eight men convicted for soliciting sex from SAPD cops posing as prostitutes

EIGHT MEN CONVICTED AND SENTENCED FOR SOLICITING SEX FROM UNDERCOVER OFFICER IN SANTA ANA STING OPERATION

*Defendants were prosecuted by the Orange County District Attorney’s HEAT Unit

SANTA ANA – Eight men arrested in an undercover sting operation pleaded guilty and were sentenced today for soliciting sex or sex acts from an undercover police officer, whom they believed to be a prostitute. The convicted defendants include: Michael Davis, 36; Heladio Herrera, 21; Silvestre Jacob, 40; Paulino Martinez, 40; Tony Nguyen, 45; Luis Ortiz, 27; Francisco Rios, 33; and Herbert Yoneoka, 68. All of the defendants pleaded guilty to one misdemeanor count of soliciting another to engage in prostitution. Herrera, Jacob, and Martinez also pleaded guilty to one misdemeanor count of driving without a license. Continue reading→

Domestic Violence in Santa Ana

Wow! There were 28 crimes reported in Santa Ana on Saturday, July 13, 2013, according to our friends at CrimeMapping.  The crimes included four DUIs and numerous acts of Domestic Violence.  You have to wonder why our City Council has done almost nothing with regard to stopping Domestic Violence and it is dismaying that Councilman David Benavides is trying to keep the bars open until 4 am.  What a horrible idea!
