Advisory: SAPD Detectives Re-Arrest After School Instructional Provider For New Child Abuse Charges
On October 4, 2018, Santa Ana Police Department detectives began an investigation into allegations of sexual misconduct by a After School Instructional Provider working at Greenville Fundamental Elementary School in the Santa Ana Unified School District.
On October 5, 2018, detectives arrested Eddy Bustamante Infante at his residence for Aggravated Sexual Assault on multiple victims. Infante was booked at the Orange County Jail on multiple child abuse charges. Infante posted bail and was released from custody. Continue reading

On Oct. 3, 2018, at about 4:00 p.m., a teenage female victim was walking home from high school on the 900 block of Presidio Drive in Costa Mesa. A newer black 2-door convertible pulled up and parked next to her. The suspect remained in his vehicle and spoke to the victim while exposing his penis to her. Continue reading

Eddy Bustamante Infante (23-years-old), a resident of Santa Ana, was arrested for Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child. Infante has been an After School Instructional Provider / Teacher’s Aide at Greenville Elementary School located at 3600 S. Raitt Street in Santa Ana since 2015.
The 12-year-old female victim reported that Infante sexually assaulted her during an after school program when she was only 10-years-old. The victim did not immediately report this incident. Detectives launched an investigation and located additional female victims who reported Infante also sexually assaulted them. To date, SAPD detectives have identified 3 victims in this case. Jenkins has been a youth pastor at the Starlight Baptist Church located at 1201 West Second Street in Santa Ana for the past two years. Jenkins has been a member of the church since 2012. Costa Mesa Police Department (CMPD) Gang Investigators, the CMPD TARGET Deputy Probation Officer, and a State Parole Agent conducted a joint enforcement sweep targeting several local gang parolees on Sep. 26.
The sweep targeted four locations of interest within Costa Mesa and resulted in the arrest of four subjects including Angel Estrada, 25, Lake Forest, Bryant Islas, 35, Santa Ana, and Binh Giang, 31, Westminster, for being in violation of their parole. Continue reading
Crime in Santa Ana reached a new low on Tuesday night as an unidentified 43-year-old employee of a Santa Ana store sustained second-degree burns to his face, chest, an arm and a leg after a suspect threw acid at him in the store’s parking lot, according to the O.C. Register.
OCFA firefighters responded to the scene and hosed off the victim as he was standing next to his car at the 700 block of East Fourth St., after 9 p.m. This incident happened a few blocks east of the DTSA East End Promenade. Continue reading

SAPD Patrol Officers arrest suspect wanted in connection to a series of armed robberies in the city of Santa Ana. Detectives believe the suspects may be responsible for additional robberies in the Orange County area.
SAPD Robbery Detectives were able to identify suspect Fernando Velasquez as the suspect in a series of four armed robberies in the city occurring from September 19th to the 23rd. Continue reading
Two Santa Ana area gas stations were the victims of armed robberies last night. And it is possible that the same suspects were behind both of those incidents as well as another robbery at a Placentia area gas station, according to ABC.
A male suspect took an unknown quantity of cash from the Shell gas station located at the 2600 block of S. Bristol St., just before 11 p.m. He sped off in a dark-colored car. Continue reading
Police in Garden Grove fatally shot one suspect while responding to a report of a domestic dispute on Tuesday, Sept. 18, according to the O.C. Register.

Saturday morning, Sept. 15, 2018, at approximately 12:06 a.m., officers were dispatched to the intersection of Victoria Street and Pacific Avenue regarding an injury traffic collision.
Officers arrived to find a black 2015 Honda Accord had struck a traffic signal pole. The driver of the vehicle, 26-year-old Patrick John Harris from Huntington Beach, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The CMPD Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) responded to the scene and began their investigation. Continue reading
