An unidentified man and woman were injured by multiple gunshots after an unknown suspect shot at them several times near First Street and Clara Street last night, according to the O.C. Register.
A witness called the SAPD at around 11 p.m. last night to report the shooting.

Jose De Jesus Gomez-Ochoa, 30, Tustin, is charged with one felony count of special circumstances murder for criminal street gang purpose, one felony count of unlawful possession of a firearm, and sentencing enhancements for the personal discharge of a firearm causing death, criminal street gang activity, the personal use of a firearm, and prior strike convictions for participation in a criminal street gang in 2011 and 2012, and criminal street gang member in possession of a firearm in 2012. Teodoro Bernal Nunez, 38, Los Angeles, is charged with one felony count of murder, one felony count of domestic battery causing injury with a prior conviction of domestic battery causing injury (Case #15CM12210), one felony count of kidnapping, one misdemeanor count of violation of a protective order, and sentencing enhancements for personal use of a deadly weapon, and great bodily injury involving domestic violence. If convicted, he faces a maximum sentence of 41 years and four months to life in state prison. Irvine, CA – The Irvine Police Department arrested a man for possession of iPads stolen from an elementary school. The suspect is identified as Khaleeq Forbes, 24, of Santa Ana.

SANTA ANA, Calif. – A parolee sex offender on a GPS monitoring device was sentenced Friday, June 17, 2016, to eight years in state prison for the pandering and attempted pimping of an 18-year-old woman. Eddie Bridges III, 38, Compton, was found guilty by a jury on July 29, 2015, of one felony count of attempted pimping and one felony count of pandering by procuring. The defendant’s sentencing enhancements for prior prison convictions in Los Angeles County in 2007 for the pimping and pandering of a minor, pimping and pandering of an adult, and a prior prison conviction in 2011 for attempted pandering, and serving separate prison terms but not remaining free for five years, were also found to be true. On 6/19/16, at 19:19 hours, officers were dispatched to 1700 S. Evergreen regarding a shooting with a male victim down. Upon arrival, officers found the victim, Eliu Armando Gramajo (52 years old), suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper torso. Suspect In Homicide And Kidnap Investigation Arrested

On 6/18/16, at 01:33 hours, SAPD officers were dispatched to a residence in the 1200 block of S. Oak Street, regarding a stabbing. A witness stated a male and female had been stabbed and the female was subsequently kidnapped by the stabbing suspect.
Patrol officers arrived on scene and found a 27 year old male stabbing victim lying on the front lawn of the residence. The victim was unconscious and unresponsive. Medics arrived on scene and pronounced the victim deceased. Continue reading→

SAPD performed an illegal fireworks enforcement operation and confiscated approximately 300 pounds of illegal fireworks and issued two(2) $1,000 fine administrative citations.

The Santa Ana Police Department will be conducting a DUI/Drivers License checkpoint on Friday, June 17th, 2016 It will begin at 9:00PM and is scheduled to conclude at 3:00AM. It will be conducted in the area of 2400 W. Fifth Street, in the City of Santa Ana.
The primary purpose of a DUI Checkpoint is to deter impaired driving, not to increase arrests. All too often, members of our community are senselessly injured or killed on local roadways by impaired drivers. This DUI/Drivers License checkpoint is an effort to reduce those tragedies, as well as ensuring drivers have a valid driver’s license. Ramiro Garcia Jr., a 23-year-old driver from Santa Ana, has been sentenced to four years in prison for a hit-and-run crash in Santa Ana that killed a pedestrian, according to the O.C. Register.
Garcia Jr. pleaded guilty on Monday to one felony count of hit-and-run with serious injury for the fatal Jan. 24 collision, according to court records. Continue reading→

DEFENDANT CONVICTED OF SHOOTING AND MURDERING ONE MAN AND ATTEMPTED MURDER OF TWO WOMEN
SANTA ANA, Calif. – A Garden Grove man was convicted today of shooting and murdering a man and attempting to murder two women in Santa Ana. Dustin Sean Ross McDonald, 24, was found guilty by a jury of one felony count of first degree murder, two felony counts of attempted murder with premeditation and deliberation, and sentencing enhancements for the personal discharge of a firearm causing death or great bodily injury. He faces a maximum sentence of 114 years to life in state prison at his sentencing Aug. 26, 2016, at 9:00 a.m. in Department C-30, Central Justice Center Santa Ana.
On Aug. 12, 2014, McDonald arranged to meet with the three victims in Santa Ana for a drug transaction. At approximately 11:30 p.m. that night, the defendant drove up to the victim’s vehicle in the area of 12th Street and Main Street, stepped out of his vehicle, walked around to the front passenger side of the victims’ vehicle while armed with a firearm, and fired approximately 10 shots. McDonald murdered the front passenger, 23-year-old Aaron Chavez, and wounded both the 21-year-old female driver of the vehicle and the 28-year-old female passenger. Continue reading→
