Advisory: SAPD Detectives Asking For Media & Public’s Assistance Identifying Commercial Robbery Suspect

Locations: Shell Gas Station (710 E. Dyer) & Circle K (2413 S. Fairview)

Suspect: M/H, 20’s, thin build, black/brown with a dark mustache. He was last seen wearing a gray hooded Sweatshirt (covering his face), denim jeans and black athletic shoes.

Synopsis: On 6/29/2017 at approximately 2:50 a.m., a masked suspect entered the Shell gas station located at 710 East Dyer Road; he approached the front counter of the business while brandishing a handgun located in the front waistband area of his pants. The suspect demanded money from the cash register; the store employee complied and gave him an undisclosed amount of money. In the video and pictures provided you can see the suspects face was momentarily exposed as he is approaching the cash register. Suspect fled the store on foot and there was no vehicle observed. A burglary suspect fell through the ceiling at a Santa Ana 7-Eleven while hiding from the police

A man suspected of burglary who attempted to hide inside a 7-Eleven located at 2745 W. McFadden Ave., was arrested late Thursday, June 15, after he crashed through the store’s ceiling tiles, according to the O.C. Register.

The suspect had apparently broken into several apartments at a complex located at  2701 W. McFadden Ave., at around 11 p.m., according to the SAPD. Continue reading→

Advisory: Man arrested for robbery after pepper spraying victim before fleeing with stolen goods

*Suspect connected to similar previous robbery

COSTA MESA, Calif. – The Costa Mesa Police Department (CMPD) arrested Costa Mesa resident Matthew Chima Udechukwu, 18, yesterday after he met a stranger under the guise of purchasing goods but instead pepper spraying the victim in the face before fleeing with stolen property.

At about 12:15 p.m. on May 30, 2017, CMPD officers responded to a report of a robbery that had just taken place. The 18-year-old male victim was selling a pair of designer shoes that he had advertised on a resale app, and Udechukwu had met with the victim to purchase the shoes. After inspecting the shoes, it is suspected that Udechukwu pepper sprayed the victim in the face, incapacitating him, and fled on foot with the stolen shoes. Continue reading→

On 05/17/2017 at approximately 7:15 pm, the suspects entered the Motel 6 located at 1623 E. 1st Street, where they jumped lobby desk brandishing a knife at the hotel clerk demanding the money in the cash register. The clerk fearing for her life gave the suspect the money from the cash register and suspects fled the location. Continue reading→

Man who robbed a Santa Ana Food 4 Less while in a wheelchair pleads guilty

Antonio Delgado Juarez, a 38-year-old man who robbed the Food 4 Less supermarket at 2140 S. Bristol St. while he was zipping around in a motorized wheelchair, back on Sep. 18, 2014, has pleaded guilty to two counts of second-degree robbery and carjacking, all felonies, according to the O.C. Register.

As it turns out Juarez can walk. Why he was in a motorized wheelchair has not been determined. Continue reading→

Advisory: Detectives From Santa Ana & Costa Mesa PDs Asking For Assistance In Identifying Suspects In An Elderly Scam

On 04/11/2017 at approximately 1:20 pm, an elderly 84 year-old victim was approached by two suspects on the street, convinced to go to the bank and withdraw money from his account, which was eventually taken by the waiting suspects. A similar crime was reported to the Costa Mesa PD on 04/28/2017 at 1030 a.m. These suspects are known to loiter around banks and bus stops near banks. Continue reading→

Advisory: Detectives Requesting Assistance Identifying Metro PCS Robbery Suspect

Location: Metro PCS located at 2547 W. McFadden #A

Occurred 4/22/2017 at 7:45 p.m., the suspect described as a Male (White or Hispanic), 30-40 y/o, 5’5-5’7”, thin build, wearing a navy blue hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans. The suspect pulled the hood of the sweatshirt over his head in an attempt to conceal his identity. The suspect points a handgun at store employees and demanded money. Employees provide the suspect with an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency which he takes and flees the business in a westbound direction on McFadden from the business. Continue reading→

One man arrested after an armed robbery at a Santa Ana internet cafe

Thirteen people were barricaded inside a Santa Ana internet cafe at the 1400 block of West McFadden Avenue for two hours on Tuesday during a reported armed robbery, according to the O.C. Register.

SAPD police officers showed up at the internet cafe at around 9:30 p.m. They questioned an unidentified individual who they found outside of the cafe. As they spoke to that individual 13 other people ran back into the cafe and locked the door. Continue reading→

Tustin police have asked for the public’s help tracking down an unidentified man who robbed a Metro PCS store at 14460 Newport Ave. last Sunday at about 6 p.m., according to the O.C. Register.

Advisory: Detectives Request Assistance Identifying Suspects Wanted In Robbery/ Assault with a Deadly Weapon

Crime Type: PC 211 Robbery/PC 245 Assault with a Deadly Weapon
Location: Nordstrom Main Place Mall- 2828 N. Main Street

Synopsis: On 02/16/2017, the above suspects attempted to take items from Nordstrom without paying. The store’s loss prevention officer approached Suspect #1 and a struggle broke out. Suspect #2 saw the struggle between the loss prevention officer and his accomplice and he attempted to intervene. Suspect #2 pulled a knife out of his pocket and attempted to stab the loss prevention officer. The stolen items were recovered before both suspects fled in a maroon 2000-2005 Ford Mustang. Suspects from Compton caught after robbing a Verizon store in Fountain Valley

ROBBERY ARREST

On January 21, 2017, Fountain Valley Police Officers responded to 9025 Warner #B (Verizon Wireless) for a robbery that just occurred. Three male suspects entered the business and stole $28,000 worth of cell phones and money from the safe and fled. Two of the suspects were reported to be armed with a firearm. Witnesses provided responding Officers with suspect descriptions and a suspect vehicle description.

The suspect vehicle was located in the City of Bellflower, where Fountain Valley Police Officers and surrounding agencies responded. After a short pursuit, which did not involve any Fountain Valley units, the suspect vehicle collided into another vehicle in the intersection of Clark Avenue and Somerset Boulevard; and the suspects fled. Fountain Valley Police Officers, with the assistance of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, located and arrested all three suspects. The stolen property was recovered, and a loaded handgun was found inside the suspect vehicle. Continue reading→

Locations: Orange County Fire Station # 72, 1688 E. 4th Street Santa Ana, CA

Synopsis: On 12/18/16, the Santa Ana Police Department responded to the report of a burglary at the Orange County Fire Authority Fire Station #72 located at 1688 East 4th Street. The subsequent investigation revealed that arson fires were set in nearby neighborhoods to draw firefighters away from the station allowing the burglar(s) to enter the station as the fire engine left to fight the fire.
