Two Location: Chevron Gas (1501 S. Broadway Street) & 7-Eleven (1020 S. Bristol Street)
On 12/17/2016 at approximately 0200 hours and at 0400 hours, the suspect entered the Chevron Gas station and later a 7-Eleven business, carrying an “assault-style rifle.” The suspect used the rifle during the robberies as he demanded money from the clerk at each location. Continue reading
An unidentified man was stabbed several times on Saturday afternoon during a robbery of his Garden Grove business, at the 12300 block of Westminster Avenue, according to the O.C. Register.
The attack happened just past noon while the business was being robbed. The business is located at a strip mall just a few blocks west of Fairview St.
One of our readers reported that the business that was robbed was Angeles Smoke Shop, located at 12321 Westminster Ave., in Santa Ana. Continue reading

Suspect: Male White or Hispanic, 21-25 years old, black hair, medium build, 5’ 7” -5’ 9” tall, wearing dark sunglasses, white t-shirt, dark colored shorts and blue athletic shoes
Synopsis: On 10/13/2016 at 6:50 a.m., the suspect enters the 76 gas station and demands that the victim give him money from the cash register. After the victim refuses, the suspect begins to yell, “Give me the money, bitch!” then jumps over the display table while waving a black knife at her. The suspect chases the victim out of the business through a rear exit then returns. He physically rips the cash deposit box/till from the table, enters a newer model Kia Forte and flees the scene. Advisory: SAPD Detectives Asking For Media and Public’s Assistance In Locating Wanted Robbery Suspect

Wanted Suspect: Matthew Vinnie Vuyna Salazar (21) LKA –Moreno Valley, CA
After doing news stories on this case SAPD Detectives received several tips as to the identity of the suspect in this case. Additionally Detectives received information from a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Crime Analyst that provided them with the identity of the suspect.
Based on the information obtained during their investigation Detectives were able to obtain an arrest warrant for suspect Salazar. Detectives have information that Salazar drifts from location to location throughout Riverside, Orange and Los Angeles Counties and believe the suspect knows that he is wanted by police. Advisory: Robbery Detective Request Assistance In Identifying Armed Robbery Suspect
Location: 710 E. Dyer Road – Circle K/Shell Gas Station
Synopsis: On 09/22/2016 at approximately 3:50 a.m., the suspect entered the Circle-K store, pointed a black semi-auto handgun at the cashier, and demanded money. The suspect fled on foot westbound on Dyer Road then possibly got on a bicycle and continued west toward Halladay. The suspect was wearing a light blue hoodie sweatshirt with dark blue sweats with a light blue stripe. Continue reading
At about 11 o’clock this morning a Santa Ana City Council Member called 911 to report witnessing a strong arm robbery in front of their office, near 1600 E. 4th Street, according to the SAPD. (Note that Santa Ana Mayor Pro Tem Vince Sarmiento’s office is located at 1617 E. 4th St., according to the California State Bar).
The City Council Member witnessed the victim being tackled to the ground and the suspect then took his bicycle. Continue reading

Advisory: Detectives request public’s assistance in identifying suspect in hardware store robbery.
Location: 1540 E. Warner/McFadden – McFadden-Dale Hardware Store
On 06/10/2016 at approximately 9 a.m. the photographed suspect took several items from the business without paying for them. He was then confronted by store employees and the suspect used force to flee the scene.
Suspect is described as: Male, White, 25-30 years old, 5’6”-5’8” tall, dark hair, wearing horn-rimmed glasses, grey jacket, black pants and a blue Quick Silver hat. Continue reading
Robbers who target Santa Ana’s South Coast area are become ever more brazen. Today an armed man stole an unidentified amount of cash from a TJ Maxx store during a mid-day robbery, at 11:30 a.m., at the 3900 block of South Bristol St., according to the O.C. Register.
As is often the case the suspect had fled, in a vehicle, before the police officers arrived, according to the SAPD. Continue reading

Anonymous donors have offered a reward of $100,000 for information provided to Detectives leading to the arrest and prosecution of the suspect in this case.

Home Invasion Attempted Robbery in El Modena
Investigators Ask For Public’s Assistance to ID Suspect
EL MODENA, Ca. (May 19, 2016) – On Wednesday May 18, 2016 at approximately 8:50 a.m. a home invasion robbery occurred on the 18000 block of East Vine Avenue in El Modena. At the time of the home invasion, one female and one male were inside the residence. The suspect approached the female victim and demanded money while threatening her with a knife. Hearing the commotion, the male victim confronted the suspect and sustained a cut to his face during an ensuing altercation. The injury sustained was not life threatening. Continue reading

Imagine getting out of jail then, as a parolee, making the decision to rob a bank? Well that happened this morning when an unarmed Joseph Springer Erickson, 34, robbed the Chase Bank branch located at 3600 South Bristol Street, at around 11:20 a.m., according to the O.C. Register.
Erickson handed a bank clerk a note demanding money. The teller gave him cash, but for perhaps he had second thoughts as Erickson then handed the money over to another bank employee before taking off on foot.
That is when this story got very weird. Erickson did not have a getaway car. So instead he got onto an OCTA bus that was working Route 57. Continue reading
Two men, from Santa Ana and Garden Grove, and a 17-year-old boy from Westminster were arrested on Sunday on suspicion of committing two robberies minutes apart in Westminster, according to the O.C. Register.
The Westminster police responded at 6:30 p.m. to a report about a robbery in the 9800 block of Bolsa Avenue. A woman was allegedly robbed by three suspects, one of whom was armed with a gun. They took her purse.
Even as the police were investigating that robbery, the brazen trio committed another robbery, at the 14700 block of Bowling Green Street, where they reportedly hit a man on the head and took his property. Continue reading
Two masked men carried out an armed robbery at a clothing store at South Coast Plaza, Zara, at about 10:15 p.m. on Friday night, according to the OC Register.
Employees were held at gunpoint by at least two male suspects. The robbers not only took cash from the registers and a safe, they also took personal items from the employees. Continue reading
A group of half-a-dozen losers were arrested today in Garden Grove after police officers spotted a vehicle that matched the description of a vehicle connected to a tagging incident on Saturday afternoon, at 3:50 p.m., at the Staples Store on Harbor Blvd., according to the O.C. Register.
The suspects turned out to be wanted in connection with a series of robberies in Santa Ana and in Garden Grove.
The suspects were pulled over and arrested at the 13000 block of Roan Road, in Garden Grove. The suspects included five adults and a juvenile. Continue reading
