A 65-year-old man was walking in the 100 block of South Clara Street at 11:45 a.m. today when another man approached him and somehow convinced him to get into a waiting vehicle, where a second man was waiting, according to the O.C. Register.
The two men drove their victim to a bank where one of the suspects walked inside, pretending to hold a handgun to the victim’s back. The suspect then compelled the victim to withdraw cash from the bank. Continue reading
A man was attacked and beaten up by four men during an attempted robbery at the 1600 block of East 4th Street at 8:50 p.m., according to the O.C. Register.
The man was walking home when he was surrounded by the four men, who demanded cash. The victim told them he had no money and they reacted by striking him from behind with what might have been a baseball bat. Then they set upon him, punching him repeatedly before they ran off west on 4th St. Continue reading

A man who likes to wear sports team caps has robbed two local banks in the Cities of Orange and Santa Ana in the past week, according to the O.C. Register.
The man robbed a Farmers and Merchants bank at 1220 E. Katella Ave. this Tuesday at around 4 p.m. The Orange Police responded to that crime scene.
The man is reported to be between 25 and 30 years old. He stands about 5′ 11″ and weighs about 150 pounds. He walked into the bank wearing black sweater, blue jeans and a black Miami Heat sports cap with an orange bill, according to the Orange Police. Continue reading

It was a hot and muggy day today in Santa Ana – and the criminals were more active than usual. A man robbed another man at gunpoint this morning at the Chevron located at 3301 South Bristol St., which is just west of Saddleback High School, and another robber robbed a 7-Eleven store at 1700 East Dyer, after brandishing a knife, according to the O.C. Register.
The robber at the Chevron gas station made off with an unknown amount of cash but he was eventually arrested. The robber at the 7-Eleven got away with an unknown amount of money. Continue reading
Two thugs attacked a 59-year-old man on Thursday night, at around 10:45 p.m., robbing him of his satchel, at the 3700 block of South Greenville Street, in Santa Ana, according to the O.C. Register.
The man was rushed by two males who were wearing dark clothing, according to the SAPD.
The victim was fortunate to escape from the suspects however he later realized that his satchel was gone. Continue reading

A 9-year-old girl named Genesis Ramos, stopped a would-be robber from taking her mom’s wallet on Monday morning, while she and her 13-year-old sister Ingrid were sitting in their car at a 7-Eleven parking lot on Grand Ave. and East Warner, according to the O.C. Register.
A man pulled up next to the girls in the parking lot and then opened an unlocked door and grabbed a wallet that had been left on the seat by their mother, who was inside the store using an ATM so she could buy donuts for the girls before heading to school.
Genesis, a fourth-grader, jumped out of the car and struggled with the man, who all the while kept trying to close his driver’s side car door. The man insisted he didn’t take anything before finally relenting and letting go of the wallet. Continue reading

Arrested: Justin Thomas Yrrarazaval (20) Santa Ana
On 5-29-15 at 9:00 A.M., an SAPD Patrol Officer observed suspect Yrrarazaval walking in the 1300 block of North Spurgeon Street. The Officer believed Yrrarazaval was the same suspect he observed on surveillance video during a bank robbery at Schools First Bank (2115 N. Broadway,) on 5-28-2015.
Robbery Detectives responded to the officer’s location and transported the suspect to the Police Department where he was questioned about his involvement in the Bank Robbery. Yrrarazaval was booked into Santa Ana Police Jail on the charge of CPC 211 – Bank Robbery. Continue reading

Advisory: Detectives need the community’s help to identify a robbery suspect
On May 12, 2015, at 1:45 in the afternoon, the suspect in the attached surveillance photos approached a woman in a parking structure off of Newport Center Drive. The suspect then grabbed the woman and removed a Rolex watch from her wrist. The victim sustained a minor injury to her wrist as a result. The suspect then fled on foot in an unknown direction.
The suspect is described as a male Hispanic, approximately 5’05, 130-150 lbs, wearing a tight black shirt and dark pants. Continue reading

Summary: Thursday, 3/26/15, at approximately 7:45 P.M., officers responded to 3600 South Susan reference an assault and robbery which had just occurred. Officers located two victims who advised they were selling T-shirts with the headliner rap artist “Immortal Technique” trademarked logo at The Observatory when they were confronted by 10 to 12 members of the group’s entourage. The victims stated they were beaten and had their T-shirts, cash and cell phones forcibly taken from them by the group. Continue reading
Francisco Cardenas, 26, a Santa Ana resident, pleaded guilty to felony assault and misdemeanor petty theft on Monday, in Orange County’s Superior Court. Cardenas was arrested on March 7, this year, when he tried to steal the tip jar at a Starbucks Coffee in Huntington Beach. A retired police officer, Scott Fahey, tried to stop Cardenas from doing that and Cardenas reacted by hitting him with his fists and with a metal sign, according to the O.C. Register.
O.C. Superior Court Judge Derek G. Johnson also sentenced Cardenas to three years of supervised probation and ordered him to pay restitution to the victims of the assault and theft. Continue reading

On February 17, 2015, at 10:00 pm, the pictured suspect entered Rite-Aid located at 18395 Brookhurst Street in Fountain Valley. The suspect selected a soda and approached an employee at the cash register. The suspect then grabbed his waistline and simulated having a handgun while demanding cash. The employee handed the suspect an undisclosed amount of cash at which time the suspect fled on foot. No vehicle was seen. Continue reading
