Samuel Elijah Alvarez, a 19-year-old man from Santa Ana pleaded guilty Friday and was immediately sentenced to a year in jail for beating a great-grandfather with an aluminum bat when the senior citizen tripped and fell on top of Alvarez’ car, according to the O.C. Register.

MAN TO BE ARRAIGNED FOR PUMMELING 71-YEAR-OLD MAN WITH BASEBALL BAT IN GAS STATION PARKING LOT
SANTA ANA, Calif. – A man is scheduled to be arraigned today for pummeling a 71-year-old man with a baseball bat in a gas station parking lot. Samuel Elijah Alvarez, 18, Santa Ana, is charged with one felony count of attempted murder with premeditation and deliberation, one felony count of aggravated assault, one felony count of battery with serious bodily injury, one felony count of possession of a prohibited weapon, and sentencing enhancement allegations for great bodily injury to a vulnerable victim, great bodily injury to an elder, and personal use of a deadly weapon. If convicted, he faces a maximum sentence of life in state prison plus six years. The People will request he be held on $200,000 bail at his arraignment today in Department CJ-1, Central Jail, Santa Ana. The time is to be determined. Continue reading→
Samuel Elijah Alvarez, an 18-year-old man wanted in connection with the beating of a 72-year-old grandfather with a baseball bat, walked into the Santa Ana Police Department’s lobby and surrendered on Thursday, according to the SAPD.
The SAPd is investigating this crime as an attempted homicide.
Alvarez showed up at the SAPD’s lobby with his lawyer when he turned himself in, just after 2 p.m. today.
Apparently Alvarez was tight-lipped when he turned himself in – which was probably on the advice of his lawyer. Continue reading→
Samuel Elijah Alvarez, an 18-year-old man, is wanted in connection with the severe beating of a 72-year-old great-grandfather with an aluminum baseball bat in Santa Ana last week, according to the O.C. Register.
The victim, Jose Chacon, a Santa Ana resident, was at the 76 gas station at the 4500 block of Westminster Avenue, when he left the gas station’s mini-mart, tripped, and fell on top of Alvarez’s car. Alvarez then got out of his car and began to argue with Chacon. Continue reading→
