SAPD arrests a father suspected of assaulting his infant, who may not survive

Advisory: SAPD Detectives Investigate Possible Child Homicide

On Friday, 07-17-15, at approximately 8:42 pm, Santa Ana police officers were dispatched to the 800 block of W. Stevens in reference to a baby not breathing. When officers arrived, they confirmed the 3-month old infant was not breathing. Officers and OCFA personnel performed CPR on the infant and he was subsequently transported to CHOC in critical condition.

CHOC medical staff observed signs of physical trauma on the infant. The infant is currently on life support and is not expected to survive. Homicide detectives responded to handle the investigation. Continue reading→

Car wash to be held today to pay for the funeral expenses of the little girl killed by an SAUSD truck this week

The family and friends of Priscilla Vallejo, the 13-year-old who was killed this week when she was hit by an SAUSD truck while she was riding her bike, are hosting a car wash today, Saturday, July 18, 2015, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., to help raise funds to pay for her funeral expenses. The car wash is being held at Templo Calvario Church located at 2617 W. 5th St., which is near Fairview, in Santa Ana.

Supporters are asked to donate at least $5 and wear blue, her favorite color. Yesterday by the way would have been Priscilla’s 14th birthday. Her Facebook page notes that studied at Mendez Fundamental School, in Santa Ana. Continue reading→

Two women and children hurt in a rollover crash at North Bush and E. Santa Ana Bl.

Two women and two children were injured Wednesday afternoon at around noon, after a rollover crash at the intersection of North Bush Street and East Santa Ana Boulevard, in Downtown Santa Ana, according to the O.C. Register.

A silver Jeep SUV drive by a woman in her 30s collided with a gray Toyota car near the intersection. There was another woman around the same age in the Jeep and also two kids, ages 10 and 6. One of the women was trapped in the car for about 20 minutes before OCFA firefighters were able to free her from the SUV. She ended up being taken to Orange County Global Medical Center in Santa Ana, where she was listed in critical condition. Continue reading→

Big A Bandit arrested by the FBI and he turned out to be a Santa Ana resident

Another embarrassment for Santa Ana. Turns out the so-called “Big A Bandit,” who got that name because he habitually wore an Angels baseball hat while committing a series of bank robberies in Orange County, lived in Santa Ana.

The man, Robert Paul Simmons, 51, was arrested on Tuesday night, FBI spokeswoman Laura Eimiller said, according to the O.C. Register. Continue reading→

On Tuesday, July 14th, 2015 at 2036 hours, patrol officers along with the Orange County Fire Authority responded to a report of a vehicle vs. pedestrian traffic collision at the intersection of Fairview and Harvard Street.

MAN CHARGED WITH PIMPING AND PANDERING WOMAN TO PAY FOR RENT

SANTA ANA – A man has been charged today with pimping and pandering a woman in order to pay for his rent. Chris Rochelle Baker Jr., 26, Long Beach, is charged with one felony count of attempted pimping. If convicted, he faces a maximum sentence of six years in state prison. Baker is being held on $35,000 bail and must prove that the money is from a legal and legitimate source before posting bond. The defendant was arraigned today and is scheduled for a pre-trial hearing, July 22, 2015, at 8:30 a.m. in Department C-55, Central Justice Center, Santa Ana. Continue reading→

A homeless man was killed tonight when a vehicle struck him at Fairview and Harvard

A homeless man, William Joseph Bailey, 47, was fatally injured on Tuesday night at around 8:35 p.m., when he was struck by a white Kia Optima at the intersection of Fairview and Harvard streets, in Santa Ana, according to the O.C. Register.

The man’s identity was not revealed by the SAPD. He was taken to a local hospital after the accident, where he ended up passing away. Continue reading→

SAPD searching for driver who hit a motorcycle on July 6 and fled

The hit and run vehicle looked like this one

A 22-year-old Santa Ana woman was involved in motorcycle hit and run accident on Monday, July 6, 2015 at 11:30 p.m., on Broadway and First Street, right in front of an Arco Gas station, not far from Birch Park.

The man who hit her was driving a black or dark green 1996 Toyota Corolla.
