FLORAL PARK ANNOUNCES 22nd ANNUAL HOME & GARDEN TOUR

SANTA ANA, CA, February 1, 2014 – The Floral Park Neighborhood Association (FPNA), one of the most architecturally distinctive neighborhoods in Orange County, will celebrate its 22nd annual Home & Garden Tour on April 26-27, 2014. The event will showcase the broad range of architectural styles and gardens that are the hallmark of the neighborhood. Over 100 neighborhood homes are now listed in the Santa Ana Register of Historic Properties. Since the first Home & Garden Tour in 1993, more than 200 homes and gardens in Floral Park have been opened to visitors from the United States and Europe.

Located in the northern tip of Santa Ana, Floral Park and its homes have been featured in publications such as The Orange County Register, Orange County Home, Orange Coast, Mary Engelbreit’s Home Companion, Southern California Home and Outdoor, The LA Times, and OC Metro. Floral Park was named “Best Neighborhood” in the Orange County Register’s 14th Annual People’s Choice Best of Orange County, and Neighborhood of the Year in 2005 by Neighborhoods USA (NUSA), primarily as a result of the annual Home and Garden Tour and its example of what a volunteer effort can bring to building a community. Advisory: Major Traffic Congestion Expected in the Area of 17th Street and Broadway Due to Ongoing Construction

SANTA ANA, CA (March 26, 2014) – Due to construction projects in the area, westbound 17th Street between Main and Broadway is reduced to one lane until tomorrow after 5 p.m. Cal Trans has also advised that the Broadway off ramp from the 5 freeway has been shut down and traffic is being diverted to the Main Street off ramp. These projects are creating heavy traffic congestion and motorists are asked to use alternate routes.

UPDATE: At approximately 0100 A.M., the missing adult was located by Officers in the Downtown area he was safe and returned to his home

Rumaldo Herrera Madrid an 88 year old male Hispanic suffering from dementia walked away from his family home this afternoon. He took his prescribed medication this morning prior to leaving the house. Continue reading→

Fire investigators responded to Newhope Elementary School on Monday morning after construction workers found evidence that a portable toilet had been set on fire, according to the O.C. Register.

Who would burn a porta pottie at an elementary school? The OC Fire Authority also reported that it appeared that someone had tried to set metal playground equipment on fire, though only minor damage was evident. Continue reading→

Suspect Arrested for Residential Burglary and Possession of Stolen Property

SANTA ANA, Calif. – (March 21, 2014) – On Sunday, February 23, 2014 Orange County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Natanael Garcia, 30, Orange, on suspicion of residential burglary and possession of stolen property. Garcia is suspected of forcing entry through a rear window and stealing property from a residence in the 10200 block of Crawford Canyon Road in the unincorporated Santa Ana area. Continue reading→

The City Council cancels the red light cameras but they’ll stay until 6/2015

The Santa Ana City Council Tuesday voted unanimously to terminate the city’s contract with a red-light camera vendor that is the subject of a federal bribery investigation, with council members saying the nearly $500 fines associated with red light tickets are an excessive burden on residents, according to the Voice of OC.

However, the contract with Phoenix-based RedFlex Traffic Systems doesn’t expire until June, 2015 and city officials said the cameras must stay up until then because they can’t terminate the contract early.

You know that some of these Council Members must have voted for these cameras originally. Voters should certainly hold that against them in November. Continue reading→

Mariners Church Santa Ana is going to be launching services at the Delhi Center on Easter, April 20th, at their newest campus in Santa Ana. But first they are inviting everyone in Santa Ana to their Kick-Off Picnic on March 22, 2014, from 1 to 3 pm at Delhi Park.

This free picnic will feature food, fun, and family as they celebrate the coming launch of their new church. There will be free tacos, face painting, activities and crafts for kids.
