Things got a bit out of control on Saturday, August 10, 2013, in Santa Ana, with 35 crimes reported by our friends at CrimeMapping. The mayhem included an Assault on Police Officers, at 3:30 am, in the Civic Center. Remember that this was also the day of the OC Pride Festival in Downtown Santa Ana. Could that event have contributed to the four DUIs? There were also two Drunk and Disorderly arrests and four Narcotic Reports.

Santa Ana Police request assistance identifying- Bank Robbery Suspect Wanted – Chase Bank 3600 S. Bristol, Aug -8-2013
On 8/08/13 at about 1535 hours, the suspect entered the Chase Bank and passed a demand note to the bank teller demanding money. After the teller handed the suspect an undisclosed amount of money he fled out of the bank through the southwest door. The suspect was last seen walking north through the west parking lot. 1st and 2nd District Bikeways Collaborative
The 1st and 2nd District Bikeways Collaborative is a coordinated planning effort led by the Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) involving many agencies including the County of Orange, Caltrans, and the cities of Buena Park, Cypress, Costa Mesa, Fountain Valley, Garden Grove, Huntington Beach, La Palma, Los Alamitos, Newport Beach, Santa Ana, Stanton, and Westminster. One of the primary objectives of this effort is to build consensus on regional bikeway corridors and to help position local jurisdictions for funding opportunities.
The results of this effort will be documented in the Districts 1 & 2 Bikeways Strategy, which will identify a set of regional bikeway corridors that connect major activity areas such as employment centers, transit stations, colleges, and universities. The Bikeways Strategy will also provide an implementation toolbox of bikeway treatments and enhancements, as well as information on bikeways funding resources. Continue reading→
