There were 24 crimes reported in Santa Ana on Thursday, August 8, 2013, according to our friends at CrimeMapping.  These included a whopping seven Vehicle Thefts!  Please watch your cars.  Don’t leave any valuables in them.  Park under street lights or in garages.  This really is getting ridiculous!

Santa Ana Police Department Advisory: Bank Robbery Suspect Wanted – Chase Bank 3600 S. Bristol, Aug -8-2013

Santa Ana Police request assistance identifying- Bank Robbery Suspect Wanted – Chase Bank 3600 S. Bristol, Aug -8-2013

On 8/08/13 at about 1535 hours, the suspect entered the Chase Bank and passed a demand note to the bank teller demanding money. After the teller handed the suspect an undisclosed amount of money he fled out of the bank through the southwest door. The suspect was last seen walking north through the west parking lot. SAPD shoots unarmed man

About 30 showed up to protest the Santa Ana Police Department.  They question whether the 5 deadly police shootings in the city this year were justified. “We want to let Santa Ana Police know that they are out of control and that we want them to stop killing the citizens of Santa Ana.  This is the 5th person they’ve killed in their city this year,” said Terri Teramura, a local activist, according to Fox News.

But a security guard, who wished to remain unidentified, told CBS News, that on July 12—two weeks before Hans Kevin Arellano was shot once in the chest in a shopping center parking lot during a confrontation with a female veteran officer—he got into a physical altercation with the suspect outside of Northgate Market on Harbor Boulevard. SAPD Advisory: Police implementing program to educate the public about the laws governing pedestrian traffic on our roadways.

The Santa Ana Police Traffic Division is implementing a program to educate the public about the laws governing pedestrian traffic on our roadways. This program has begun with targeted enforcement of traffic laws relating to pedestrians in crosswalks. The program will continue into the coming weeks with increased enforcement of pedestrian traffic violations (i.e. pedestrian signals, jaywalking, etc.)
