Advisory: SAPD Detectives Investigating Homicide 1000 Block West Richland Avenue

On Thursday, September 06, 2018, at 1:18 AM, Santa Ana police officers responded to reports of a shooting with a subject down in the area of W. Richland Avenue and S. Shelton Street. Responding officers discovered a Hispanic male juvenile down in the street at 1000 Block West Richland Avenue.

The male suffered an apparent gunshot wound to his upper body. Orange County Fire Authority paramedics responded to the scene, evaluated the victim, and declared him deceased at 1:28 AM. Continue reading→

A pedestrian was struck and killed by a freight train on Monday night at 11:53 p.m., at 17th Street and Lincoln Avenue, in Santa Ana, according to the O.C. Register.

The SAPD arrested a man who allegedly touched children inappropriately at a laundromat

Alan Alberto Flores, 28, was arrested by SAPD police officers today after he allegedly inappropriately touched several girls at a Santa Ana laundromat, according to KTLA News.

Flores was booked on suspicion of attempted kidnapping, child annoyance and sexual battery, according to the SAPD. Continue reading→

An SAPD K-9 police dog helped to find firearms, ammo and body armor at a felon’s house on Saturday night

A K-9 police dog assisted Santa Ana police department investigators last night during a search of a convicted felon’s residence. The police were able to find and seize eight firearms, 10,000+ rounds of ammo & body armor according to an SAPD Tweet.

The case will be submitted to the OCDA for prosecution as convicted felons are not allowed to own guns and ammo. Continue reading→

The SAPD is looking for a huge shoplifter who got punched at a Santa Ana Stater Bros.

A huge shoplifting suspect identified by the SAPD as Jose Prado was caught on video as he was loading up his truck with grocery items he did not pay for, at a Santa Ana Stater Bros. supermarket parking lot, when store employees confronted him, according to ABC News.

Prado went into angry bear mode when a man in shorts and a brown shirt sauntered up to him and laid him out with one big punch! Continue reading→

Advisory: SAPD Detectives Arrest Suspect for Ongoing Sexual Abuse of Minors & Believe There May Be Additional Victims

Santa Ana Police Detectives arrested Javier Ortiz Pichardo for child molestation. Pichardo began molesting children in 1999 when he was a cook at the New China restaurant in Santa Ana. The restaurant closed in 2004.

Pichardo’s first victim was only seven-years-old when the child’s family were regular customers at the restaurant. Pichardo molested the victim in the restaurant bathroom. He then befriended the family and gave them free food, which gained the victim’s family’s trust. He was eventually allowed to pick the victim up from school. Pichardo repeatedly abused the victim for seven years. The abuse stopped when the victim was 14-years-old and the victim’s family lost contact with Pichardo. Continue reading→

Missing Person, Lily HUANG was last seen around midnight on August 25, 2018. Around 9:00am, HUANG’S family discovered that HUANG was not home. Prior to going missing, HUANG told her daughter that she was going to injure herself and left a note behind apologizing for past family issues. SANTA ANA, Calif. – A felon who had two of his prior felony convictions reduced to misdemeanors under Proposition 47 (Prop 47), which resulted in his release from custody, was sentenced today to 18 years in state prison for shooting his firearm at police officers while leading them on a chase.

Advisory: SAPD Detectives Investigating Homicide – 800 Block South Flintridge Drive

Victim: Deceased- Male Hispanic (35) Victim name release pending family notification

On Wednesday, August 22, 2018, at 1:18 PM, Santa Ana Police officers responded to reports of a shooting with a subject down at 800 Block South Flintridge Drive. Responding officers discovered a Hispanic adult male down on the sidewalk suffering apparent gunshot wounds to his upper torso.

Police officers began lifesaving measures and requested paramedics. Orange County Fire Authority paramedics responded to the scene, treated, and transported the shooting victim to a local trauma center. Attending physicians declared the victim deceased on at 1:57 PM. Continue reading→

On Sunday, August 19, 2018 at approximately 11:43 a.m., the Santa Ana Police Department received several calls in regards to a vehicle versus pedestrian collision in the parking lot of Goodwill Industries located in the 2700 block of W. 5th St. The female was reportedly in and out of consciousness but breathing. Imagine coming home and finding a giant snake in your house? That happened to a Santa Ana family this Saturday, Aug. 18, according to the O.C. Register.

The family discovered the snake at their home, at the 900 block of South Main St., at about 1 a.m. As animal control officers were not available at that time, when the family called 911, the call was put through to the police on duty. Continue reading→
