Missing Santa Ana elderly man with dementia has been found!

Advisory: SAPD OFFICERS LOOKING FOR CRITICALLY MISSING ADULT, 84 YEAR-OLD MALE
Missing Person: Tai Tu (84)
UPDATE – The male has been located at an area hospital. OCFA located him at approximately 2:30 a.m. this morning after falling in the street. He was hospitalized as a John Doe. He is now receiving medical treatment and will be released once he recovers.
SAPD Officers currently looking for critical missing adult, 84-year old Tai Tu, lives alone at the 900 West block 1st Street. At approximately 8:50 a.m., his caretaker came by and discovered he was not at home. A check of the complex surveillance system showed Mr. Tu left the facility this morning at 12:30 a.m. Mr. Tu has severe dementia and is in need of medication. Continue reading
Another man was shot in Councilman Benavides’ Ward midday. When will he push for more police services?
Here we go again! More violence in central Santa Ana and longtime Councilmembers like David Benavides and Sal Tinajero that represent much of that area, do not step up and push for more police services. Luckily, new Councilman Juan Villegas is very pro-public safety, but everyone on the Council should help.
As we reported earlier, today on n Sunday, April 2 at about 1:30 p.m. a man was riding his bicycle in the area of 700 South Pacific when he was confronted by a male pedestrian. A verbal confrontation occurred and the male pedestrian shot at the bicyclist.

Three victims were injured in two drive by shootings in Santa Ana on Saturday
On Saturday, April 1 at about 3:30 p.m. SAPD police officers responded to the area of 500 East Pine regarding a shooting that had just occurred, according to SAPD Case # 17-08711.
Further investigation revealed a group in a vehicle got into an argument with a group of pedestrians and a shooting occurred were two males were struck. Continue reading

Advisory: Detectives Arrest Uber Driver For Sexual Assault & Believe There May Be Additional Victims
Arrested: Angel Sanchez (37) Costa Mesa, Booked into the SAPD Jail on the Sexual Assault Charges and being held on $100,000 bail
During the evening hours of March 30, 2017, a female adult requested an Uber ride from a company gathering to her home in Santa Ana. The female victim was picked up by Uber driver Angel Sanchez in a 2016 Grey Toyota Sienna (similar to the one pictured), and driven to a street near her residence in Santa Ana. There, Sanchez sexually assaulted the victim in the Toyota Sienna.
After the sexual assault, the victim ran from the suspect’s vehicle and immediately called the police department for assistance. Continue reading
Two shootings were reported in Santa Ana on Tuesday
On Tuesday, March 28 at about 5 p.m., SAPD police officers responded to the area of 700 South Center regarding a shooting. The investigation revealed the shooting occurred in front of Jerome Center. Witnesses said the victim was shot in his upper torso, according to SAPD Case # 17-08295.
This shooting happened next to Monte Vista Elementary School in Santa Ana’s Ward 4, which is represented by Councilman David Benavides. Continue reading

Description: Female, Hispanic, 5’04”, 135 lbs., black hair, brown eyes, wearing unknown clothing.
Location: Esli Samaria Vasquez was last seen on 3/28/17 at about 1:25 p.m. at Sami’s Liquor located at 1845 W. Katella, Anaheim, CA.
Synopsis: On 02/14/17 Esli Samaria Vasquez ran away from a group home. VASQUEZ has been in communication with her father via telephone only advising that she is safe. On 3/28/17 at 1:25 p.m., VASQUEZ called her father from Anaheim. She told her father that she could not go home because someone was threatening her. VASQUEZ hung up before her father could get further information. An employee at the liquor store confirmed that VASQUEZ was seen arguing with a male outside the store. They were last seen walking south from the liquor store. No further details. VASQUEZ has run away several times in the past and currently has a child protective custody warrant. Continue reading
Santa Ana man charged with molesting two girls, including one younger than 10
Joseph Margo, a 48-year-old man was charged Monday with sexually assaulting two girls, including one who was 10 or younger, in Santa Ana, according to the O.C. Register.
Margo is facing numerous felony charges including two counts each of sexual intercourse or sodomy with a child 10 or younger, committing a lewd or lascivious act with a minor younger than 14, oral copulation or sexual penetration of a child 10 or younger, and lewd acts on a child aged 14 or 15. A 15-year old Santa Ana boy has died after being shot on Saturday night
Isaac Gonzalez, a 15-year-old boy, died at a local hospital Sunday, March 26, after being shot multiple times Saturday night, according to the O.C. Register.
On Saturday, March 25, 2017, at 11:51 p.m., Santa Ana Police Department Communications received a call of a male down and bleeding in the area of 2302 W. St. Gertrude. Santa Ana Police Officers and Orange County Fire Authority personnel arrived on the scene and found the 15 year old male victim, Gonzalez, suffering from several gunshot wounds. Fire department personnel transported Gonzalez to an area hospital where he ultimately died. Continue reading
Two men were shot and seriously injured in Santa Ana on Sunday night
Two men were in critical condition Monday morning after being shot in the 2500 block of South Bristol Street around 11:30 p.m. Sunday, according to the O.C. Register.
One of the men was shot in his upper torso. The other man was shot in his lower torso then he fell into the street and was struck by a vehicle, according to the SAPD. The driver of that vehicle stopped at the scene and cooperated with the police. Continue reading

Three more shootings were reported in Santa Ana this weekend
On Saturday, March 25 at about 4:30 p.m. SAPD police officers responded to 317 E. 17th Street after receiving a phone call regarding shots fired. A witness told the police officers that he approached a couple in the parking lot involved in an argument when the male threatened him with a gun. The couple left and later the male returned with a handgun and shot at the witness narrowly missing him but striking the building, according to SAPD Case # 17-08025.
This shooting happened near the 5 Freeway in in Santa Ana’s Ward 3, which is represented by Councilman Jose Solorio. Continue reading
Santa Ana gangbanger gets a 7 year prison sentence for shooting at police officers
Oscar Freddie Torres, a 19-year-old Santa Ana gang member, was sentenced to seven years in prison on Friday, for shooting at SAPD police officers who were responding to a domestic dispute, according to the O.C. Register.
Torres was able to avoid attempted murder charges by pleading guilty on Nov. 29 to grossly negligent discharge of a firearm. Torres still got a lengthy prison sentence because he also admitted to sentencing enhancement allegations regarding the personal use of a firearm and criminal street gang activity. Continue reading
Santa Ana man who ran over and killed a pedestrian sentenced to 15 years to life in prison

SANTA ANA, Calif. – A drunken speeding driver was sentenced today to 15 years to life in state prison for murdering a man after running a red light and crashing into the car the victim was riding in. Herbert Granados Calderon, 26, Santa Ana, pleaded guilty on March 7, 2017, to one felony count of murder. The defendant was also ordered to pay restitution.
At approximately 9:00 p.m. on Oct. 25, 2013, Calderon drove southbound at a high rate of speed on Bristol Street in Santa Ana while under the influence of alcohol. The defendant drove through a red light at the Central Avenue intersection and crashed his car into the right rear passenger door of a black Honda Civic which was driving lawfully through the intersection. The victim, 18-year-old Roberto Rubio, was seated in the back seat of the Honda Civic. The force of the collision caused the Honda Civic to rotate clockwise and collide with another vehicle which was lawfully waiting to turn left at the intersection. Rubio died as a result of injuries he sustained during the crash. Continue reading
