SAPD looking for more victims of man who masturbated outside schools

Advisory: SAPD SEEKING PUBLIC’S HELP IDENTIFYING POTENTIAL ADDITIONAL VICTIMS OF MAN CHARGED WITH MASTURBATING INSIDE VAN OUTSIDE SCHOOL

The Orange County District Attorney’s Office and the Santa Ana Police Department (SAPD) are seeking the public’s help identifying potential additional victims of a man charged with masturbating inside a van while parked outside school parking lots. Carlos Sanchez Hernandez, 42, Santa Ana, is charged with two misdemeanor counts each of indecent exposure and child annoyance. If convicted, he faces a maximum sentence of two years in jail and mandatory lifetime sex offender registration. He is being held on $50,000 bail and is scheduled to be arraigned today at 10:00 a.m. in Department CJ-1, Central Jail, Santa Ana. Continue reading→

Cecilia Aguinaga is hosting a fundraiser and silent auction to benefit her campaign for the SAUSD School Board on August 15, 2014, at Las Palomas Restaurant, located at 400 South Euclid St., in Anaheim, from 6 pm to 8 pm.

Cecilia was born in Jalisco, México and immigrated to the United States in 1978. She has lived more than 35 years in Santa Ana. Cecilia and her husband Armando have two sons (Ramsey and Allan) and a daughter (Sylvia). Ramsey was a police officer for the Santa Ana and Los Angeles Police Department, Allan graduated from the Culinary School of the Arts, and Sylvia graduated from University of California, Berkeley, is teaching for the Los Angeles Unified School District and is currently working towards her masters degree. Santa Ana Unified School District Provides Free LUNCHES THROUGH Summer FEEDING Program

SANTA ANA, CA — June 18, 2014 – The Santa Ana Unified School District (SAUSD) will be participating in a free summer lunch program at 42 schools and 8 park sites within the district boundary between June 23rd to August 22nd.

The federally-funded program operates Monday through Thursday at most schools, with a select number of locations operating Monday through Friday. The program is open to all children ages 1 to 18, no income requirements or registration is necessary, and all participants must eat their lunch at the site. Continue reading→

The Valley High School Culinary Arts team of High School Inc. Academy continue to reign as the nation’s culinary arts champions after clinching first-place for the third time in a row at the National Cooking up Change® competition that was held Monday, June 9, 2014, in Washington, D.C. Their journey began this spring when they competed against other high school students enrolled in culinary arts programs in Orange County and won first place. This fall’s Santa Ana School Board race is shaping up to be perhaps the most interesting local election in awhile.

Candidates for the SAUSD School Board who already announced that they are running in November include Shuntele Andrews, a retired Valley High School teacher; Cecilia Aguinaga, a community activist who serves on the OC Vector Control Board; Eric Alderete, an attorney and Planning Commissioner; and Valerie Amezcua, a Supervising Probation Officer at the Central Youth and Family Resource Center in the City of Santa Ana.

Two SAUSD School Board Trustees are up for reelection – John Palacio and Audrey Yamagata-Noji. Both have been in office far too long.  I hear Yamagata-Noji may be retiring from the School Board.  I have not heard that about Palacio. I suspect he will run again.  He almost has to.  He says he is a political consultant but who would hire him?  He needs the pay and benefits he gets from the SAUSD. Continue reading→
