SELF-APPOINTED PASTOR/BIBLE STUDY LEADER CONVICTED OF SEXUALLY ASSAULTING TWO YOUNG MALE RELATIVES

WESTMINSTER – A self-appointed pastor who hosted regular “church” meetings and Bible studies in his Westminster home was convicted today of sexually assaulting two young male relatives beginning when the victims were 12 years old.

James Ray Guerrero, 54, Westminster, was found guilty by a jury of eight felony counts of lewd acts upon a child under 14, one felony count of distributing pornography to a minor, and sentencing enhancement allegations for substantial sexual conduct with a child and lewd acts on more than one child. He faces a maximum sentence of 123 years to life in state prison at his sentencing Feb. 14, 2014, at 1:30 p.m. in Department W-16, West Justice Center, Westminster. Continue reading→

POLICE OFFICER SENTENCED TO 12 YEARS IN PRISON FOR FORCIBLY SODOMIZING THREE WOMEN, WHOM HE HAD BRIEFLY DATED

SANTA ANA – A police officer was sentenced today to 12 years in state prison and lifetime sex offender registration for forcibly sodomizing three women, all of whom he knew in a dating capacity. Jesse Andrew Green, 36, Huntington Beach, was found guilty by a jury Sept. 6, 2013, of three felony counts of forcible sodomy. The jury was unable to reach a verdict on one felony count of rape.

At the time of the crime, Green had been a police officer with the Garden Grove Police Department since 2006. The defendant also worked for the Calexico Police Department from 2004 to 2006. Continue reading→

WESTMINSTER – A registered sex offender was sentenced today to three years in state prison for arranging to meet an underage girl for sex through Craigslist. Carlton Earl Griner, 56, Garden Grove, pleaded guilty today to one felony count each of contacting a child with intent to commit a lewd act, meeting a minor with intent to engage in lewd conduct, and attempted lewd act upon a child under 14 years old. Griner was also required to register as a lifetime sex offender in California based on his prior conviction of possessing child pornography in Iowa. Continue reading→

57-YEAR-OLD MAN TO FACE TRIAL FOR ENGAGING IN SEXUAL CONDUCT WITH 14-YEAR-OLD BOY HE MET ON CRAIGSLIST

FULLERTON – A 57-year-old man will face trial tomorrow for engaging in illegal sexual conduct with a 14-year-old boy he met on Craigslist. Mark Aime Brosseau, Stanton, is charged with one felony count each of lewd acts upon a child, contacting a child with the intent to commit lewd acts, and meeting a child with the intent to engage in lewd conduct. He faces a maximum sentence of five years and four months in state prison if convicted and mandatory lifetime sex offender registration. Santa Ana Police Department Advisory: Detectives arrest 42 year old man for lewd acts with minor (13) after they meet on Facebook

On 10/17/13, Santa Ana Police Officers were dispatched to Carr Intermediate to investigate a possible child molestation. The investigation revealed that the now 13-year-old Jane Doe had been “friended” through Facebook by a 42-year-old male when she was age 12. The suspect identified as Manuel Arevalo Parada (Santa Ana) communicated with the victim on Facebook until four months ago. At that time the suspect arranged to discreetly meet with the victim on multiple occasions and engaged in lewd conduct with her over a 3-4 month period. Continue reading→

Additional Victims Sought

On 7-11-13 the Fountain Valley Police Department arrested Scott Ruvolo, 56 years of age from Victorville, after he was attempting to record women changing in the dressing room at the Salvation Army thrift store located at 16119 Brookhurst in Fountain Valley.

A search of Ruvolo’s cell phone revealed he recorded two additional unidentified female victims undressing at the same store just prior to his arrest. Other video footage indicates Ruvolo had his cell phone clipped to his belt and recorded women while walking around unknown Target stores and Starbucks. This occurred between June of 2013 to July of 2013. Continue reading→

YOUTH SOCCER REFEREE CONVICTED OF ENGAGING IN ORAL COPULATION WITH UNDERAGE TEENAGE BOY AND COMMITTING LEWD ACTS ON TWO ADDITIONAL BOYS

FULLERTON – A youth soccer referee was convicted yesterday of engaging in oral copulation with a teenage boy and molesting two additional boys. Jorge Diosdado Serafin, 31, Anaheim, pleaded guilty yesterday, Oct. 15, 2013, to three felony counts of oral copulation of a minor under 16 years old, one felony count of lewd act on a child, and one felony count of lewd act on a child under 14 years old. Serafin faces a maximum sentence of 10 years and eight months in state prison and mandatory lifetime sex offender registration at his sentencing Nov. 15, 2013, at 8:00 a.m. in Department N-12, North Justice Center, Fullerton.

At the time of the crimes, Serafin was a referee for Oakview Soccer League in Huntington Beach. Continue reading→

FULLERTON – A Yorba Linda man was sentenced Friday, Oct. 11, 2013, to 24 years in state prison for raping three women, two of whom he met on MySpace. The defendant was previously convicted after pleading guilty in the case but later withdrew his plea. Jason Ara Erpinar, 24, was convicted for the second time Aug. 30, 2012, by a jury of two felony counts of rape by intoxication and one felony count of forcible rape. Gordon Ray Bodkin, 47, Huntington Beach, was found guilty July 23, 2013, by a jury of one felony count of unlawful sexual intercourse with a child under 10, and one felony count of sexual penetration of a child under 10. Tariq Ibrahim Musa, 33, Santa Ana, pleaded guilty today to one felony count each of kidnapping, false imprisonment, grand theft person, and being in receipt of stolen property.

SANTA ANA – Three sex purchasers were convicted and sentenced for soliciting sex from a woman whom they believed to be a prostitute. Omar Jesus Moreno, 35, and Ariel Castro, 42, both of Santa Ana, each pleaded guilty to one misdemeanor count of agreeing to engage in prostitution. Both defendants were sentenced to three years of informal probation, 10 days in jail with the possibility of CalTrans in lieu of jail, and must submit to AIDS testing and education. HOMELESS MAN CONVICTED OF HOME BURGLARIES STARTING WITH SEXUAL ASSAULT OF SLEEPING 10-YEAR-OLD GIRL

SANTA ANA – A homeless man was convicted today of sexually assaulting a 10-year-old girl who was asleep in her home and a string of residential burglaries in Buena Park. Joel Solis Aguirre, 24, Fullerton, was found guilty by a jury of one felony count of residential burglary, one felony count each of assault with intent to commit a sexual offense during a residential burglary, lewd act upon a child under 14 years old, attempted kidnapping to commit a sexual offense, attempted kidnapping for child molesting and attempted residential burglary. The sentencing allegations and enhancements for having a non-accomplice present during three residential burglaries and committing a lewd act during the commission of a burglary were found true. On Aug. 21, 2013, the defendant pleaded guilty to two counts of residential burglary in this case. Aguirre faces a maximum sentence of life in state prison and mandatory lifetime sex offender registration at his sentencing Nov. 8, 2013, at 9:00 a.m. in Department C-29, Central Justice Center, Santa Ana.
