On Sunday, June 22, 2018 at approximately 1:30 am, the Orange County Fire Authority (OCFA) received a 911 call from a Santa Ana resident reporting a female had fallen from a skateboard and was down in the roadway in the 2400 block of N. Spruce Street. The female was reportedly unconscious but breathing. Upon their arrival, OCFA personnel briefly treated the female at the scene before she was transported by CARE Ambulance to UCI Medical Center for treatment. Continue reading→

Santa Ana pedestrian accidents

A 6-year-old boy, Steven Duarte Beltran, who was skateboarding with a friend inside the Villa Del Sol apartments was struck and killed by a vehicle Wednesday around 5:45 p.m., at the Santa Ana apartment complex where he lived, at the 800 block of South Fairview Street, according to the O.C. Register.

Beltran allegedly ran between two parked cars when he was hit by a vehicle, according to the SAPD.  The police reported that he was rushing to buy candy across the street from the apartments when he darted out in front of the car that was being driven by an unidentified 43-year-old woman.   Continue reading→

Surfing Champ Courtney Conlogue and Councilwoman Michele Martinez

The Santa Ana City Council honored a great many good people at tonight’s City Council meeting.  Amongst them were several notable female athletes.

Councilmember Michele Martinez gave a certificate of recognition to Santa Ana resident Courtney Conologue, who recently won the Hurley U.S. Open Women’s Surfing Champtionship in Huntington Beach.

Martinez also recognized Santa Ana resident Julie Kindstrand for taking first place at the World Cup Skateboarding Pro Tech Pool Party.  (See the pictures below). Continue reading→
