United Mexican-American Veterans Association holiday lunch and toy drive on Dec. 11

The United Mexican-American Veterans Association plans a holiday lunch and toy drive on Saturday, Dec. 11.

It takes place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at American Legion Post #132, 143 S. Lemon St., Orange.

Set up at 10-11AM.

Event Starts at 11AM.

Please bring a WRAPPED Toy for the Toy Drive (make a note to let us know if it is for a boy or girl).

They will also be conducting a small ceremony – Pledge of Allegiance; Prayer/Invocation; and Oath of Office for new UMAVA Board and Officers.

Senator Lou Correa honoring 101 women making a difference on March 18

Senator Lou Correa and the United Mexican-American Veterans Association are celebrating the 2010 Women’s History Month with a “Women Making A Difference Awards and Tea Reception” on Thursday, March 18, from 4:00 – 6:00 PM at the Rancho Santiago Community College District headquarters, located at 2323 N. Broadway, in Santa Ana.

Maria T. Solis-Martinez is being recognized as the Woman of the Year, by Senator Correa.

Maria retired from the US Air Force.
Is on the Board Member for American GI Forum, and
Is a long-term Member of UMAVA (United Mexican-American Veterans Association)
