On August 2, 2015, at approximately 6 p.m., SAPD Gang Enforcement Officers were conducting a patrol check in the area of 800 South Townsend.

The suspect, Armando Antunez, was arrested for various weapons violations, gang enhancements and a probation violation.
The Orange County District Attorney’s Office and the Santa Ana Police Department, Crimes Against Persons Detectives responded to the scene to conduct a joint investigation.

They meant August 2.
Uhhhhh wrong date?
You would never know that the SAPD has a full time PR guy…
Good one less scum
The victim was one of the injoinees from the Gang Injunction. He had sucessfully had his name removed with the help of Councilman Benavides and the socialist group Chicano’s United. I guess a young man walking around with a .40 caliber Glock doesn’t pose a risk in this part of the world……..but a gamg injunction does.
I think it’s time to united all the gangs from Santa Ana since there a new “gang” (SAPD) in town.
SAPD is not a gang, or like a gang. It is the agency that enforces the laws, and is subject to the laws itself. To draw a comparison between SAPD and lawless gangs is evil, since these gangs are predators of the first degree. I actually don’t like the whole idea of gang injunctions, but, they are necessary since we don’t have laws that execute murderers and kidnappers. We let known criminals wander the streets, and expect our police to keep order, which is an almost impossible task. So, yes, the gang injunctions are necessary until we lock them up for good, or find a better solution
